Beef Shawarma

Ingredients of Beef Shawarma

  1. Prepare of Beef Shawarma.
  2. You need 500 g of Ribeye steak.
  3. You need 2 tbsp of Lebanese shawarma seasoning.
  4. It's 1 tsp of all spice.
  5. You need 1 tsp of cinnamon.
  6. Prepare 1 of White onion.
  7. It's 2 tbsp of Greek style yogurt.
  8. You need 2 tbsp of Vegetable oil.
  9. Prepare of Tahini Sauce.
  10. You need 2 tbsp of Tahini.
  11. It's 2 tbsp of Greek style yogurt.
  12. You need 1/2 of small Lemon (squeezed).
  13. Prepare of Water.
  14. It's Bunch of chopped Parsley.
  15. It's of Optional.
  16. It's of Flatbread (wrap up and eat as a sandwich with tomato and pickle).
  17. It's of Fries (or any other side).
  18. It's of Salt.

Beef Shawarma step by step

  1. Tenderise the meat using a mallet or similar then cut it into thin strips about 3-4cm long and put in a bowl.
  2. Add 2 tbsp yogurt, the Shawarma seasoning, all spice, cinnamon (and a pinch of salt) to the bowl then mix well.
  3. Leave the meat to marinate for about 30 minutes.
  4. Chop the onion into strips and put in a saucepan with the vegetable oil and cook for 5 minutes. Add salt to help remove the moisture.
  5. Add the marinated meat and leave to cook on a medium heat.
  6. For the sauce mix the yoghurt, tahini, lemon juice, and some salt.
  7. Add a little water to make the sauce slightly runny.
  8. Add the parsley and mix it together.
  9. Go back to check on the beef, it should be ready once all the liquid has evaporated.
  10. Serve once the meat is cooked.
